Mac OS X: Panther

Is Apple's newest O.S. worth the upgrade?

Along with announcing that Panther (OS X version 10.3) with soon ship on October 24, 2003 at 8 p.m., Apple has included a site that gives the top ten reasons to upgrade. This site really only lists two reasons to upgrade that are not included in OS X version 10.2: Reason #2 is that it is the easiest OS to use, mentioning the feature dubbed Exposé. Reason #10 is about the File Vault which allows users to setup 128bit AES encryption on their home directories. Of these two features, if you read my previous posts, Exposé might be a great feature, but File Vault is not really necessary and could probably be done by free third-party programers.

Don't get me wrong, I still want Panther, but that has more for the desire to hve the latest and greatest than the fact that Panther does not seem like that big of an upgrade.
